Contact NJ legislators during Lame Duck session. Call Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin to urge them to move the following bills:

Tell Congress to stop Trump’s illegal war in Venezuela.  Lawmakers must pass a War Powers Resolution requiring the Trump Administration to immediately cease all hostilities within or against Venezuela.  Click here to sign Civic Shout's petition.   Also, urge no U.S. occupation in Venezuela.  Maduro is a dictator who oppressed his own people, Yet, this operation has nothing to do with the Venezuelan people or Venezuelan freedom. Tell Congress to impeach Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security.  A recent investigation from The Guardian documents a growing number of deaths connected to ICE operations nationwide. There is a disturbing picture of an agency operating without accountability and a secretary who has failed to protect human life.  Click here to sign The Swarm's petition.

 

Congress must investigate FBI attacks on anti-ICE dissent. The Trump Administration is trying to criminalize opposition by labeling dissent as ”terrorism”.  Once the FBI is unleashed against protected speech, anyone who challenges power becomes vulnerable. Encourage the Senate to extend ACA healthcare subsidies. The House vote on ACA subsidies sent a powerful message that protecting people’s health can still rise above party lines. The Senate must act now. Click here to sign Juggernaut Project's petition.

Tell the Senate to reject the pro-polluter SPEED act.  The House recently passed a bill written for polluters, not people.
